FAQs

How do I join?

  • Click the link

  • Sign the waiver

  • Join your chosen C&K WhatsApp group at the end of the waiver, and that's it, you're in!

Is it for beginners?

Yes! C&K is for all abilities, with paces ranging from around 5:30 to 8:30 min/km. You can run, walk, or use a run/walk approach if you're building up. Our tail runner stays at the back no matter what pace you're going, so nobody gets left behind.

We often do out-and-back runs, so everyone runs for time rather than distance, for example, 25 minutes out and 25 minutes back. We sometimes offer 3km or 6km options too, and we always meet at the café at the end.

If it's your first time, look out for the pink armband; that's your lead runner, and she'll make sure you're settled in and welcomed into the group.

If you're completely new to running, starting with a couch to 5km programme alongside the group is always a good idea to help prevent injury.

What do the armbands mean?

So you know who's who out on our runs:

Lead Runner (front of the group, leading the route) - Pink armband If you're new to the group, head for the gal with the pink armband on, but honestly, any gal wearing an armband will be more than happy to chat and help you out!

Tail Runner: Coffee-coloured armband: Our tail runner stays at the back of the group no matter what, whether you're running fast, running slow, or run/walking, they'll be with you.

Walkers: If you're coming just to walk, we may occasionally have a designated walker with a blue armband. Otherwise, you're very welcome to walk the route, just check it beforehand so you know where you're headed!

How does the Whatsapp group work?

Weekly Announcement: Every Sunday, we post an announcement covering everything happening the following week, runs and socials.

Runs: 24 hours before each run, a poll goes up in the group, just pop your name down to let us know you're coming.

Socials: These are announced once, in the weekly announcement, when they're confirmed. After that, you can find all the details on CLIQ or by asking in the Community chat.

When do you meet?

Summer:

Northampton

  • Thursday - 6:30pm

  • Sunday - 9:00am

Milton Keynes

  • Tuesday - 6:00am

  • Wednesday - 6:30pm

Why do you go to different places every week?

Variety is the spice of running life! Mixing up our locations helps us discover new places, means different runs are on different people's doorsteps, keeps things fresh and exciting, and lets us spread the love across lots of different local coffee shops.

When did C&K Start?

Leisha started Caffeine & Kilometres in April 2025

How many run clubs are there?

We're now running in 2 locations: Milton Keynes and Northampton.

How much does it cost? Do I need to book?

Not a penny, and no booking required! Just turn up whenever suits you, come every week or once a year, we're just happy to see you.

What happens in bad weather - do runs get cancelled?

Rain or shine, we generally run! Runs only get cancelled if conditions turn properly unsafe - think snow and ice. If that happens, we'll always let you know in the WhatsApp group first, so keep an eye out.

Can I bring a friend who isn't in the WhatsApp group yet?

Absolutely, the more the merrier! Just make sure they sign the waiver first (see "How do I join?" above) before they hit the road with us.

What if I can't make the pace / get left behind?

Never gonna happen! Our tail runner sticks with the back of the group no matter what, and we always regroup at the coffee shop at the end, so however fast or slow you go, you're never running alone.

Are you trained run guides?

We keep it real: we're volunteers, not trained running guides, and we take no liability. We're here because we love the community, the coffee, and the kilometres, not as professional coaches.

Dogs & buggies

Dogs: bring them along on a lead! At your own risk.
